Join Lynbrook's chapter (818) of California Scholarship Federation, the oldest honor society in California! To find out more about the club, come to our meetings on bi-weekly FRIDAYS AT BRUNCH in the AUDITORIUM!
What Is CSF?
California Scholarship Federation, or CSF, is a highly coveted honor society that provides members with several opportunities to perform community service while pursuing academic excellence. Students who wish to join one of the largest clubs on campus must meet a specific academic grade requirement.
Why Join CSF?
-
It’s easy to meet new people. We are the largest volunteer club on campus, having had over 200 club members last year.
-
CSF has high academic standards as an honor society.
-
Freshmen can join! We are the only honor club that has no grade limitations. You can join anytime from freshman year all the way until senior year.
-
You can earn scholarships. CSF offers senior members the opportunity to apply for several scholarships, including the prestigious Seymour award that comes with a $15,000 prize!
-
Seniors get recognition at graduation. Eligible seniors receive a golden CSF STOLE (not those thin cords!) to wear at graduation as well as additional recognition in the graduation brochure.
-
It’s easy to earn hours. We have an easy-to-use database with more volunteer opportunities than any other service club on campus. Our Activities Coordinators update the website every single week with new events to keep you satisfied!
-
We keep track of the hours for you. Our diligent secretary updates members’ points every week and sends out emails to let you know how many hours you volunteered.
-
Volunteer Anywhere. Our volunteer events include helping out at marathons, festivals, Sacred Heart, local elementary schools, and much more. If you know any fun events, send us an email and we'll add it on the database!
What Do We Offer?
-
Short-term events- you can volunteer for a couple hours over the weekend or whenever you are free. We offer volunteering at 5k runs, homeless shelter meal prep, book sales, local elementary schools (Meyerholz, JohnMuir, Dilworth etc.), and a lot more!
-
Long-term event- If you want more consistent volunteering we also have long-term events where you can tutor at Miller Power Hour, help out at the library, and a lot more!
-
Chapter Projects- Chapter Project events are coordinated and hosted by your officers. These events happen monthly and aim to reach out to other parts of the community and create a longer lasting impact.
-
Socials- we offer all types of socials for you to get to know our 200+ members! We have service socials where you bond all while helping out the community; one event we have done in the past is Christmas Card Making Social where we donate the cards to hospitals. Another type of socials we do are bonding socials. In the past, we all just made slime (when it was still a thing) and had fun together! Plus there's pizza!
